La Casa de Rubén A.C. respects your privacy. This policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights.
When you donate, we collect your name, email, and optionally your phone number. For tax receipts, we may also collect your RFC, business name, postal code, and tax regime. Payment processing is handled by Stripe and PayPal - we never store credit card numbers. If you use la Casa's app, we also keep your name (in up to four parts), your email and your phone number and, if you give them to us, your date of birth, your pronouns, your profile photo and your interests, together with the workshops you sign up for. Optionally, and only if you expressly authorize it, we keep your LGBTQ+ identity —sensitive data— to show your flag on your profile: it is stored encrypted, it does not appear in the lists la Casa's team works with, it is not shared with anyone, and you can remove it whenever you want. Also optionally, we keep your address and apartment number, only to know which areas the community comes from, always in aggregate and never person by person.
We use Google Analytics 4, Google Ads (conversion measurement and remarketing), our own server-side analytics, the Meta pixel (Facebook and Instagram) and its Conversions API — which reports those same donations from our server, subject to the same permission as the pixel — to understand how the site is used, measure our campaigns and show them to people who might join in. IP addresses are anonymized in our own analytics and are never sent to Meta. In Europe, the UK, Switzerland, the United States and other countries none of this loads until you accept; elsewhere you can turn it off whenever you like from "Cookie preferences", at the bottom of the page. We use your data to process donations, send receipts and thank-you emails; to handle your sign-ups for our activities and write to you about them - confirming your place, reminding you of the date and telling you if anything changes or if your place is released -, and - if you opt in - to send newsletter updates and WhatsApp messages about our community activities.
If you sign up for a workshop from the app, your first name, your paternal surname and your email are also recorded in Odoo, the system la Casa uses for the attendance list at the door. We share no phone number or other data there, and if you close your account those rows are anonymised. If you sign in to the app with Google or Apple, sign-in goes through Firebase Authentication, a Google service, and we keep the identifier of your account with that provider so we can recognise you next time; we never receive your Google or Apple password, and if you close your account that identifier is deleted. When you enter your address in the app, what you type in the search box and —if you use the button for your location— your phone's position are sent to Google Maps Platform (Places and Geocoding) to find the address; la Casa keeps only the text of the address you choose and your apartment number, never coordinates, and your phone's location permission is requested only at that moment. When the app fails, it sends Sentry, the service we use to detect errors, technical information about the failure, without your name or email and without recording your screen. Your LGBTQ+ identity and your address are not shared with Odoo or with any other third party. We do not sell, trade, or rent your personal information. If you pay a workshop contribution online, Stripe — the payment processor — receives your name and your account email and, in the payment's internal record (not shown on your receipt or on the OXXO voucher), the workshop name, the session date and how many places you paid for, so the Casa can identify each payment; if you ask to delete your account, that data is also erased from Stripe, although the payment itself is kept. We share data with payment processors (Stripe, PayPal) and email delivery services as necessary to fulfill your donation, and — if you accepted measurement cookies, or did not reject them in countries where the law does not require asking beforehand — browsing data with Google and Meta (Facebook and Instagram) to measure and target our campaigns. In that case we also share your email address in hashed form (SHA-256, never in plain text) together with the amount, currency and frequency (one-off or monthly) of your donation: with Google from your browser (Google Ads enhanced conversions) and with Meta from our own server (Conversions API), which is the only way to report OXXO or SPEI payments and the renewals of a monthly donation, because by then no page is open any more. That transmission to Meta may include, hashed in the same way, your name, your phone number and the location details the payment processor gave us (city, state, postal code and country), along with the identifiers Meta's own pixel stored in your browser and an internal identifier of your donor record, hashed as well. We never share your RFC or the rest of your tax details with advertising platforms, and if you reject measurement cookies — or if your country requires accepting them and you did not — none of this is sent, neither from your browser nor from our server.
You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your personal data at any time by emailing us. We comply with applicable data protection regulations. Deletion reaches our own systems immediately; if we had already shared your hashed email with Google or Meta, we also file the erasure request with those platforms, which resolve it on their own timelines and under their own policies.
